How To Draw A Crater
Meteor Crater Drawing
How to draw a crater after a meteor impacts sounds quite simple and it is really and you really just have to think about how the earth will be driven apart after something flies at force and hits the ground, you can take some inspiration from meteors landing on earth as there have been many small asteroids and meteors that have landed in different parts of the world and each have caused different crater marks.
To draw a direct hit crater all we have to do is draw an oval lying flat or on an angle like in the quick drawing video below, this is our crater impact hole were the asteroid or meteor has pushed the earth or mud down and outwards causing a crater hole.
And from then on it's just a case of adding various details such as the raised sections at the rim of the crater which will be the earth all pushed outwards and to top it off you can add some smoke drifting off and some small bits of rubble too if you wanted.
Drawing a crater is easy really and I hope this video would give you some idea in creating a crater whether that be sketching one or even sculpturing a crater like on the moon. With over one million search results returned for the phrase "How To Draw A Crater" I just thought hey why not!?
