## The body of the Angry Bird.

## The body of this one is almost a circle.

If you look at the above image it is the body of the bird it is almost a circle except that the bottom is not quite as curved as the top of the circle. This is because it is the underbelly of the bird and is slightly flatter to stop it falling over. You can draw this with a small piece of crockery like a plate or a saucer. If you draw it with a circle shape, then move the circle shape up a little from the bottom and draw the curve again you can get the flatter part just right. Then just remove the line that you don't want.

## Three circles two of them are eyes.

Notice that the eye on the left is slightly bigger than the one on the right this is because it is intended to seem like it is slightly turned to the right and the right eye would be a little further away making it smaller. If you imagine a vertical and horizontal line dividing the circle into four it will help you to identify where the eyes go in relation to those imaginary lines. You could draw them in if it helps as they will be covered with the color after. The central circle which is not an eye but a white spot on the birds forehead is a slight oval shape and is very close to the central vertical line on it's left hand side. This will help you to place it then it will be easier to place the two eyes each side of it. If you look horizontally along the top of the two eyes you will notice that they are almost level with each other this will help to place them as well.

## The beak of an angry bird.

The top portion of the beak actually looks like a banana that has had part of it cut away on the left hand side. The very pointy is in the center of the two halves of the circle and about two thirds up from the bottom finding this point will help you to place it correctly. The top line of the banana shape touches the bottom of the right eye and extends about half the distance across that eye further out from the outer edge of the right eye. Working out where these marks are will help you to place the top section of the beak in the space. It will also help you to get the under section of the beak right as well. The bottom line of the bottom section of the beak is just a little over half way down the central horizontal line.

## Pupils for an angry bird.

The pupils are slightly closer to the inside of the eyes than the outside making the bird look a little cross eyed like he is looking at his beak also making him look a bit angry as well because after all he is an angry bird. Like the left eye the left pupil is also slightly bigger than the right one.

## How to draw the slanted eyebrows of an Angry Bird.

The eyebrows should be easy because they are very basic rectangle shapes with square corners and they overlap the eyes a little which should help you to get them in the right places. You can also see where they extend over the outer edge of the birds body.

## This Angry Bird has a tail as well

## How to draw the grey areas around the eyes and under the body of the Angry Bird.

This should not be difficult at all because the bottom of the left grey area line up with the center portion of the beak where the top and bottom halves meet each other. The underbelly section is about two thirds of the distance between the bottom edge of the birds body and the bottom edge of the beak. If you are going to fill in the colored areas of the bird with pens it does not matter as much about your lines being a hundred percent accurate because the black pen will hide most of that anyway. This also give you a final opportunity to make any slight adjustments to your final drawing.

## Finishing off with the birds tail.

The tail narrower at the bottom than the top, the top line where the yellow tip is placed is just slightly curved along with the curves down the sides. This now finishes off your construction drawing so all that is left is to color your bird with pens.

## Finally some points about drawing.

All the way through this I have pointed out ways to make your drawing accurate by comparing what you are drawing with other elements that you are about to draw. If you star out with a basic circle you can find out where the other bits go by measuring and comparing them with each other. I have talked about horizontal and vertical lines in the drawing and by looking from side to side up and down your drawing you can work out where these elements go to help you get them right. This is how all drawings are drawn well by all artists, they measure them out but using the drawing to help them. A face can be drawn easily by just drawing one eye and then working out where everything else goes in relation to that one eye. So how the draw an Angry Bird can be used as a way to draw everything really. Happy drawing, thank you, Gareth.

Hi Geetbhim, I am happy it works for you but I think I will make one more image that can be traced off the screen or printed to make it a bit more easier, just for those who don't even want to try and draw it. Thanks again, Gareth.
