How to make your own sewing pattern

There are lots of web sites to learn crafts & cooking. But, I didn't find any web site where you can learn how to make your own basic sewing pattern. So I thought I should share my knowledge with you ladies, who want to start or to try out sewing your own clothes.

Centre Back Length : from the neck point to the waistline with the tape slightly loosened.

Bust : around the fullest part of the bust with the tape held horizontally

(B= Bust)

All measurements are in centimeters

Basic sewing pattern ( block ) for Upper Body

1. Draw basic lines and determine the position of the neckline.

2. Based on the back neckline, draw duide lines for the front neckline, shoulder , armhole lines etc.

3. Finally, this is your Basic pattern for the upper body. Its important to check the measurements of each section after all lines have been drawn.

The Basic Sleeve

A double breasted collarless suit

.. drawn using the basic pattern.

This is really cool. I've been always dying to make my own clothes, but didn't know how to. I'm gonna try this now. and I see that its a little geometrical game. Looks interesting.

Don't you have any simple patterns other than this double breasted thing ? It looks nice, but complicated.
