John Berkey - Legends of SF Art vol.1
One of my favourite artists, John Berkey specialised in space and sci-fi themed art, he was born in North Dakota, August 13th, 1932.
Berkey had a long and distinguished career during which he avoided using computers. He created cover art for many books, and also worked on movie posters, famous examples include The Towering Inferno (1974) and King Kong (1976). He also contributed several striking examples of Star Wars art.
John Berkey was inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in 2004.
He died of heart failure on April 29th, 2008.
I hope you enjoy my little tribute to a great artist.
