..... and don't forget to visit my amazing collection of crafts on Pinterest

DIY Colander Pendant Lamp

This is my top craft project for April - and this website gives you very clear step-by-step instructions of how to achieve this. I think it would be fabulous in a kitchen or above a kitchen table and at night the light shining through the holes onto the ceiling would be beautiful.

Spring Scrapbook Paper Tree

This is a simple but very effective piece of home d├ęcor from the Two Girls Being Crafty website, you will find the link to this tutorial here on the right. This is a delightful piece of crafting that will brighten up your home and is simple enough to get the children involved in making it too, perfect for a rainy day afternoon to bring a touch of Spring inside the house. Or why not try this alternative version with beautifully crocheted leaves that will last longer and are oh so pretty!

Kusudama Tutorial

Paper Lanterns

I just love these origami-type creations by the website Folding Trees (cute name) and I was thinking that I could use perfumed paper and hang them in my closets to turn them into pomanders or hang little groups of them in my daughter's bedroom which she would love.

Photographic Sun Catcher

Isn't this gorgeous, you could make this either for yourself with your favourite family photographs or it would make a wonderful pressie for parents of a newborn baby.

This tutorial tells you how to do all the work yourself which is a bit fiddly, however someone has posted a comment that you can take your photographs to a print shop and they will print them onto the clear/coloured acrylic panels for you and then all you have to do is punch holes in them and hang them - much easier and you still achieve the same effect. I know which one I'll be doing.

Make a Lunch Box from a Plastic Milk Carton

I just love when someone takes something that we would normally throw away and makes something useful and I have no idea where this idea came from but it is brilliant.

It teaches you how to upcycle an empty milk jug into a lunchbox by drawing lines as shown in the photo, cutting it out, folding, and attaching a hook and loop closure.

Simply Clever!

Personalised Coffee Mugs

I love this idea for making homemade personalized coffee mugs, it is so very, very simple and easy to do and barely takes any time at all. I made two of these at Easter for my children with special little messages from me to them and filled them with little hollow Easter chicks. I think these would be fabulous for Christmas presents. And you don't have to stick to black ink for your design as Sharpie pens come in all sorts of colors including Silver and Gold.

DIY Personalised Pillows with Text

I just love these pillows, personalised to be one of a kind and would make a fabulous presents. This is much easier than I thought it would be and well worth your time and effort to create a very special look for your home.

Things you will need to personalise the pillow/cushion covers:

Glowing Shells

This gorgeous table lighting from Martha Stewart is easily achievable and perfect for an intimate setting.

Things you will need to make the lit shell display:

If you intend this display for outdoor you could always use a string of solar lights, I did this in my garden, used a long string of solar fairy lights and extended the lights up the garden umbrella and wove it in an out of the struts above, it looked stunning.

Clever Bathroom Storage

This photograph is really self explanatory, a perfect storage solution for any small bathroom.

How to make Paper Pencils

Simple, easy and great way to make your own pencils.

Things you will need to make the pencils:

If you wish to use origami paper please see the link above to find the cheapest deal I could find.

Strawplanes

This is a little piece of fun craft for the kids, easy to make and great to fly (and not just for boys) my daughter and I made some of these a few weeks ago, and they were a delight, very simple to do, very inexpensive and amazingly they fly beautifully, much better than any traditional paper plane that I have ever made as an adult or as a child. Go on you know you want to, release your inner child and make these - I promise you won't regret it!

How To Glitter Up Your Shoes

This very clever DIY-er and recycler took a pair of old dated looking shoes and turned them into a pair of shoes covered in glitter that any Cinderella amongst us would be delighted to be seen in. Follow this Crafty Crafty tutorial and you'll want to cover everything in glitter - well we all need a bit of sparkle in our lives don't we!

Printing your Photos onto Canvas

I literally have thousands of photographs stored on my pc, phone and various other little techie storage devices which 'one day I will print' - but why not turn them into a beautiful piece of art? I never realised just how easy it is and have since done this with the first of I expect many family photos that will soon adorn our walls. This tutorial linked on the right will take you through the process step-by-step and it works, various sizes of canvases can be bought fairly cheaply at local hobby craft shops or over the internet on sites like Ebay or Amazon and instead of paying a fortune for one canvas you can do it yourself and be proud of the end result.
