"My woodburnings"

"Old buddy"

My art is an "Out" for me....

It all started back in 1972...I was 10 years old, doing the usual things kids do.....getting into mischief, doing things parents worried about, like playing with fire in the woods, burning models, you know, the regular stuff.....

My dad realized this about me, and I guess he figured he'd fight fire with fire. He came home one day and he had something in a bag. He gave it to me and told me to use my creative side to keep me busy. I never knew it would turn into something like these burnings. I am blessed to do this so I enjoy sharing it with others. I sell them for different prices and different things come into play with that like size of the piece, the detail put into it, the difficulty, etc. I usually take my own photos of the subjects, or if you have a personal picture I can make it into a burning for you or whomever you have in mind.

When I'm doing one of my burnings, I get into this zone, one that an artist knows of. You imagine the piece in your mind before and after and you try to put that into reality for the client every time. I'm honored to do every piece. I give the glory to God above for giving me the talent to do this and I hope I can share it with everyone. If you happen upon this hub, please share it with everyone you know. I have sold numerous burnings in the past and would like to have a piece in every home in America. I know that won't happen, but it's always nice to dream right? Hit me up on here or send me an email with any questions about a burning for yourself or someone you love. Thanks for reading my hubs, and I hope you enjoy the wood burnings....God Bless!

"A successful hunt"

"Pimp My Ride!"

'Nice catch"

These are just a few of my previous burnings, many more on my Facebook page.....Hope you see one that lights a spark for more interest. Just let me know and we'll go from there friends!! Please leave a comment below, let me know what you think....Good or Bad, I won't take it personal....Thanks again!

Wow, you are very talented! I am a "burner" myself but not like this! I started in the Boy Scouts when I was a kid and I started making chess boards as an adult. I haven't tried to sell any yet but it is a great idea. I wrote a Hub about how to make a chess board with wood burning techniques: http://hubpages.com/art/How-To-Make-A-Chess-Board-...

You are very talented and this is inspiring work! Thanks sharing this. Voted Up and SHARING!

This brings back such fond memories of the word burning set my dad got me. To this day, the smell triggers vivid memories. I love that smell. You're quite a talented artist. I could easily see one of these hanging in my office. Thanks for sharing.

I have to agree with Poetic Fool about the smell, particularly on Pine wood!

J.S., and Poetic Fool....thanks for checking my work out, and for the comments! P.F., my dad bought me one when I was 10...39 years ago. I owe it to him for starting me on the road to burning wood. My 82 yr old mother still has the first one I ever made (A wagon and a windmill in the background) I use ONLY 3/4 Birch plywood, soft enough to burn on, hard enough to take the heat. I frame them myself, and add colors when the client asks me too. If you ever need one, I'll give you discounts since you're hubbers....Just drop me a line at 1986csr@gmail.com with the picture you want, and I'll do my best for you...Thanks again! Jeff
