I've watched quite a few of these films at my local Odeon and ABC cinemas Mhatter99. One cinema has since been demolished and turned into a bus station the other is now a bingo hall.

Thanks for posting!

True confessions: Steve, I believe you have hooked me on the fascinating posters and accompanying info! It's really fun and interesting to peruse your hubs....even if I'm not at all interested in a particular "type" of movie......like Science Fiction!!!! LOL.

Good for you! I'm pulled to your hubs...regardless.....is this how addictions happen!!? Oh dear.

Just when you thought you were out I pulled you back in! heh heh [rubs hands] :)

Thanks for visiting and commenting Paula, always appreciated.

I'm a sci-fi fan, I've seen all of these films and preparing this hub was a lot of fun.

The 1970's was a great decade for science fiction. Star Wars was new and exciting (not like the increasingly crappy Star War franchise sausages that followed). Logan's Run... Jenny Agutter. The SF movies seemed more interesting-- not just a bunch of armed heroes slinking down dark, dingy hallways (1976 Star Wars gets a pass on that-- it was all good). Another great hub, Steve!

Thanks David. I agree the 70's was a great decade for sci-fi (Asimov hated the term 'sci-fi' and preferred 'SF').

The beginnings of modern sci-fi, Westworld was the progenitor to Terminator and Jurassic Park. The dystopian futures of Soylent Green and Logan's Run, the mutant apocalypse of The Omega Man.

And Star Wars was The Dam Busters and 633 Squadron set in space. :)

Thanks for posting.

I have seen 28 of the movies you have listed. Two more that I pretty sure I have seen but can not remember much about the movie so I did not include in my tally count. Lots of personal favorites in this hub.

Time After Time...McDowell second best movie...only behind A Clockwork Orange

A Boy and His Dog...loved the ending....and the only Don Johnson performance that I have ever liked

Soylent Green....another one with an awesome ending...and you get Chuck Heston as well

Slaughterhouse-Five....got read the classic book first before watching this movie.....George Roy Hill made this movie between Butch and Sundance and The Sting.

Dark Star...watching this movie is like watching Alien....no wonder...as Dan O'Bannon wrote Alien too

Rollerball....James Caan and John Houseman are outstanding in the movie...Caan was at the height of his stardom

StarWars...thank goodness Disney now owns Han Solo, Luke, Darth and Indy Jones.

Logan's Run....I still remember watching that movie and thinking 30 is pretty old....now that I sit at 45 ...30 seems pretty damn young...lol.

Star Trek.....glad it came back....but this is a very bloated film....I recently rewatched it ....and could not believe how much screen time is given to seeing the outside of the Enterprise....I think at one point we watch the Enterprise go through Vgr....for about 10 solid minutes.

An interesting hub to read....glad I have seen many of these movies...can I get my movie buff card back?

Voted up and across the board.

Thanks Bruce, enjoyed the comment and observations.

Highest rated film here is Star Wars, and deservedly so, the film was a game changer and that first Star Wars film is easily my favourite of the six. Tied for second place is A Clockwork Orange and Alien.

Lowest rated is Empire of the Ants.

Some fans are not happy that Star Wars is in the hands of Disney but I'm glad someone got it out of Lucas hands. I want to see more films set in that universe. And get some decent writers this time!

I'd love to see Rollerball on Blu-ray, maybe next year?
