This Year in our Garden; Macro Photography

I'm really proud of these photos of the life in our garden this year - hope you'll enjoy.

The Alium and the Bee

When I started this hub I thought it was going to be a one-off excursion into my garden to play with a new macro lens that I had bought for my camera but I enjoyed myself so much and I was so proud of my photographs that I decided to continue taking photos of what was happening out there in my little patch of greenness.

I now intend to take photographs throughout the whole year and I hope that you will come back occasionally and visit to see what's new - we're fast approaching the end of May so I've added a whole pile of new photos as there is so much happening out there - I hope you like them.

I hope you like these as much as I enjoyed taking them, I will of course update this from time to time as more buds decide to show their head and I can have a more varied hub, but for now if you haven't tried macro photography before I highly recommend it, you see things you'd never noticed before - all you need is a really steady hand.

If you enjoyed this hub perhaps you would be interested in these two hubs that I have written and photographed:

You have some great pictures here. I especially like the frog! I like to take macro photography myself. It can be a closer look at nature of things you don't normally see. Voted up and beautiful! Have a great day! :)

Voted up. Great photos. I see you call it a ladybug, too; over the Pond a lot of ppl call it a ladybird as well, I think.

Great hub with amazing photos! What a blessing being invaded by lady bugs turned out to be for your first trip outside using your new lens!

I came here through Movie Master's recommendation and am glad I did.

Voted up across the board except for funny.

I love your photography Eileen, I can see your new macro lens is going to get lots of work!! I love the ladybeetles, they enchanted me when I was a child and they still excite me. I love the little bug huddle and the one bug to a leaf photo. Also the pink flower, is that known as 'bleeding heart'? Also of course the frogs!!

Lovely work, I will be back to check out more. Voting all the good ups and SHARING.

Great photos Eileen! What camera and lenses are you using?

I have a Sony Alpha camera and I was using a Sony AF 18-70 lens and a 55m macro lens extension. Unfortunately the Sony lens decided to die a death yesterday, it had been making clicking noises occasionally but yesterday had an epileptic type fit and won't work now - I can feel an Ebay moment coming on.
