More Gilded Ceramic Tiles

These are more examples of the newest innovation in decorative ceramic tiles. Those of you who read our last hub are aware that after much trial and error GILDNTILE has perfected a new line of tiles with a varigated leaf application (a tie-dye like gold foil). In addition to our earlier tiles depicting vectored military seals, rock and roll stars and various photos these animal and Egyptian themed tiles are some of the most beautiful pieces of fine art that you've never seen. If you want more info on the process or to purchase one check out the first hub or just e-mail us at gildntile35@hotmail .com and watch for the coming website (gildntile.com), it will be cool. Thanks for taking the time to check out the tiles, hope you like them! Peace!!

Holy shit, dude - I . . .am clueless as to what goes on with this, but it just seems like it would be a chore to make every single tile!

Man, I'm right . . . .almost half as often as a broken clock (I'm smarter than broken digital clocks though, barely). . .but was that mooose in the other hub? Are two moose meice, or meeses, or meeces? I'm add those pics to the blogger blog.

I didn't know if I was talking out of my rear or not when I said, "hell, if you've got an idea, tell Tom and Justin; and see what they come up with." It sorta just sounded like something a salesman would say. . .and I used to pretend to be a salesman, but not on tv. - at least I didn't know if I was on tv, I'd prefer just to not know. . .where am I?

Dude, I'm really dumb - what exactly does it mean when one says that something is Gilded? I know that that involves some metal work - and metal work, shaping stuff and all, that can't be easy. Plus, metal is expensive. I'm scared to shoot hippies these days, bullets cost too much. Damn, wait a sec, thought I was in Easy Rider there for a second. .

Seriously though, I've never seen anything like these tiles - have you seen any competition? That's the kind of tile that you'd take out of a trashed house 75 - 100 years from now, and put it in the new one as used, old tile, so long as it ain't broke, and if it is broke, you might pretend it ain't if you got all the pieces!

Wow I used to work at a Jewelry Mfg.co. (actually I was the manager of 25 employees) and we used gold, silver and copper foil sheets all the time...I am curious how you applied this to a tile?...and what does one do with the tile? use it in their decor around the house...like in the kitchen, the Bathroom, on the wall, over the bar?, ...what kind of tile is this applied to?..Looks really nice to me..sorta back to the Hippee times..:O) spaced out yet soo cool...:O) HUGS Merle Ann

Hey Todd, it is labor intense to do these gilded tiles. It takes Justin anywhere from an hour to two and a half hours to do the ones you've seen. You're right about saying we can put anything on a tile, these are the more fine art end of it. Gilding has been done a long time, mostly done on the detail work on ceramic pottery and also used on picture frames to give them that metallic look. It's a foil material, kind of a much thinner version of aluminum foil. You're right, there is no competition man. Nobody else is doing this stuff. That's what's so cool about them.

Hi Merle Ann, It's applied very carefully :-P These (like the bold print up there says) are ceramic tiles and yes, I can put a bracket on the back to hang it, I can put feet (rubber bumpers) on the bottom so they can sit flat, I have stands that they sit on to be displayed and also wooden easels to display them. They're clear coated so you can even use them if you're doing an actual tile job (kitchen, shower etc.) I was just going to do art and photos and stuff like that on 'em but that Justin just figured out how to take it to a whole new level and do something totally unique. Like I told Todd, nobody else is doing it and if they tried they couldn't because of the method he uses. I think they're totally cool too, I can't stop looking at them myself. A friend of mine saw them and asked if the 3 he was looking at were available (which they were not) so he'll be doing 3 more for him. I think this is something that could really take off. Every single person that's seen them has been stunned, they look tons better in person. I bought a domain name and tomorrow I'm doing a web page to use until we build the actual site (which itself is going to be real cool. I'm glad you like 'em too! Peace and Love!! Tom

Hey Merle Ann, in a panic about mail from you everything got deleted but really in an effort to produce these everything else got put on hold. I wanted to do photos and other things and will still do those but for now this is the focus because honestly nobody else is doing it. If you want to know the other part of it e-mail me and I'll tell you about that, it's very easy stuff to do and not costly. Once I get the web page done I'll be doing all that social network stuff but actually Todd is helping me out in that respect. Take care, Peace and Love!! Tom

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your alwats appreciated comments! Peace my friend!!

Outstanding work Justin and Tom. Unique and charismatic to understate the obvious. It's nice to see something new and exciting, unique and above all, a beautiful thing that brings father and son together. I am moved by the art, as well as the partnership.

Thanks K9keystrokes, I have to say this is mostly Justin. I had an idea and he took it to this. I'm still amazed myself. I'm glad you're moved by the art but even more the partnership because he's my favorite person on the planet. Thanks again for you uplifting and very kind comment! Peace!! Tom

Hi Merle Ann, thanks, I've been trying to do the social media stuff (facebook etc.) and while it's kind of fun it's very time consuming. Those photos of the pig roast made me totally hungry by the way :-P I love that hummingbird too but he just did another one that's even cooler. He just keeps coming up with new ways to apply the gilding. Some of his ideas come from Bob Ross, he used to watch him all the time. Funny how he can apply painting ideas to do this stuff. Good to hear from you, hope all's well! Peace and Love!! Tom

Yeah, It's (facebook) been distracting, I've found probably 30 people, mostly musicians, that I knew back in the 60's and while it's fun I'm not getting done what I need to. I typed in the girl I was with for 17 years and there she was, using her before marriage name. The cool part is I got to see her daughter, I always wondered if she looked like her mom and she does, too cute. Justin watched Bob since he was just a little kid, I think he liked those "happy trees":-P. I wouldn't know how to find you on FB. It's still confuses me but I'll e-mail you where to find me. Peace and Love!! Tom
