I love Tim Burton and was lucky enough to see his art exhibit at the LACMA. It was amazing to see costume and sets from his movies, his sketches, artwork, story ideas, and even some of his work when he was a Disney artist.

I know he didn't direct A Nightmare Before Christmas but it is so Tim Burton that it is hard not to see it on this list.

Hi Domenick, you're right, Nightmare Before Christmas should be included, its very much a Tim Burton film even if it was Henry Selick who directed it. I've added it to the hub, thanks for the comment and observation!

Steve, again, I had no idea Tim Burton was behind so many movies. He definitely brings his unique style to whatever he does. I think the first movie I was aware of by him was The Nightmare Before Christmas. I had no idea he was behind Peewee's Big Adventure-- but, in retrospect, his stamp is all over it. Keep up the great work.

Thanks David, I think Burton started off as an animator for Disney in the early 80's, I like his gothic style which suited the Batman films back then and he still has a love for animation his newest film is animated and in black and white too!

Nice pick for a poster hub. First of all I have seen every single one of the movies listed....most more than once. Favorites would include Batman 1, Big Fish, Sleepy Hollow and Beetlejuice. Ones I did not like too much...Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.....give me Wilder's Wonka versus Depp's Wonka any day of the week. Disappointed with Dark Shadows...granted I never watched the tv show so many I am missing important parts. Mars Attacks seems to be missing something....one of the few movies I find Nicholson unwatchable in.

As for the posters.....I especially like the Japanese version of Big Fish....I wish that was the box cover in the states.

Voted up and interesting as always.

Thanks Bruce. The ones I've seen the most times are the two Batman films and Beetlejuice. I thought Mars Attacks was a good laugh, the flip side of Independence Day, you don't often see Tom Jones brandishing an alien weapon. :)

I love that image of Jack Nicholson on the Batman poster, to my mind that's how the Joker should look like in the movies.

I was disappointed with Dark Shadows too, it should have been a natural fit for Burton and Depp but something was off.

Highest rated films on the page are - Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood and Big Fish, all tied with an 8 rating.

Lowest rated is Planet of the Apes.

I had no idea Tim Burton was involved in the Batman movies...see I learn something from everyone of your hubs! I haven't seen Dark Shadows but being a fan of the original series I'm not so sure I want to.

Another great choice for a great hub.

Voted up, useful, and very interesting.

Hi Mary, thanks for commenting on my Tim Burton poster hub, much appreciated.

For a while the 1989 Batman movie, starring Jack Nicholson as the Joker, was Tim Burton's most successful movie it was the biggest movie of that year in the U.S.

Burton's biggest movie now is Alice in Wonderland which has grossed over a billion dollars!

Thanks again for posting!

Hi Steve; I love Tim Burton. He's probably my favorite director working today. (Unless you count Miyazaki) True, he's made a few bombs but overall, he's one of the most innovative and original directors around. My favorites are "Ed Wood", "Big Fish", "Pee Wee's Big Adventure", "Batman", and "the Nightmare Before Christmas".

He seems to be in a bit of a slump lately, and he hasn't made a winner in a while, but maybe "Frankenweenie" will be good.

Well done,

Rob

Hi Rob, thanks for commenting. So you're a big anime fan, or is it just Miyazaki? I read that Tim Burton is planning a sequel to Beetlejuice but Michael Keaton is 25 years older now, hmmm.

Hi Steve; I love anime in general. Great stuff. I was watching it back in the late 60s when anime first came over here, with stuff like "Gigantor" and Kimba" and "Speed Racer". We used to called it "Japanimation".

I can't see Michael Keaton playing Beetlejuice now. How could they explain a ghost getting older?

Rob

Exactly Keaton's going to require a lot of make-up or they might just turn him into a CG effect. :)

We used to call anime 'Manga' here in the UK and some people still call it that. Thanks for posting.

Well I own the DVD's to nearly all of them. Not the newest 2 and I don't think I have Mars Attacks and Ed Wood. Great list

Thanks daisydayz. I wasn't that thrilled with Dark Shadows but I'll probably pick it up on blu-ray when it hits the cheap shelves.
