Van Gogh Wheatfield free cross stitch pattern

IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING

My new cross stitch is based on A Wheat Field with Cypresses by Van Gogh. This is a very large pattern and should be quite a challenge.

The stitch count is 197 wide by 155 high and uses 29 DMC colors. The pattern is set up for 14 count aida, but I would suggest 16 or 18 count.

I have stopped also, I am developing cataracts, but they are not yet bad enough for surgery, so I sympathize. I am accumulating lots of patterns to do when I can see better.

You might want to try a lower stitch count, maybe 10. It will make the image pretty big but it will be much easier to do. For awhile I used a magnifying glass, but that was kind of awkward. If cross stitch is out, try plastic canvas or rug hooking. You can make some pretty nice things with those techniques.
