Wherescape - Background jpegs for 3D Renders
My little graphics store
I am an illustrator who uses all kinds of media - watercolours, crayons, pastels, inks, charcoal, software... When I had some time during a lean period, I ceated a bunch of images using dry pastels, touched them up a bit in photoshop and uploaded them to create an online shop.
The good thing about pastels is that just the choice of media itself adds an emotional content to the images. I had also done a hub on an easy way to start creating beautiful landscapes with pastels, and use this medium off and on.
I catered to a community of artists, mostly 3d artists. Sometimes, 3d artists use a readymade background for their renders, to provide a suitable setting for their characters. There are many who sell these bgs, but very few of them are hand-done. That was my motivation to do these pictures in pastels. The store doesn't exist now, but I still use pastel backgrounds for my renders.
Enjoy the samples, and use them freely in your work! Welcome! It would be great if you give me a credit line though. :)
