Art Mural Design Posters to Color

One of the most interesting (and challenging) adult colorist topics I've explored is coloring in mural art posters made from multiple sheets bound into books with perforated pages, or assembled in a collection.

These unique adult coloring pages are complex poster sheet murals and sometimes called "Build a Window" or "Window View" coloring pages because they can be arranged in a grouping that resembles window panes to create four unique pictures or together form a large mural block. Teens looking to create a multiple panel posters love them.

This grouping technique is often used by artists and photographers who create a related set of fine art prints, photographs or paintings mounted or framed separately from several smaller works. Individually and together the panels make a work of art.

The panels of your colored in poster murals can also be framed individually and mounted in a group, or you can connect all the sheets of a coloring mural on the wall and view them as one large united poster or mural. Coloring murals and poster sets for adults can be worked on as a group, or you can tackle the sheets all by yourself, one at a time.

I have a printer that uses special software to enlarge any bitmap graphic into a much larger printable image. The better the original image quality, the nicer the final image. That's basically what's called Raster Image Processing (RIP, for short), and it's how image enlarging programs works. After a program RIPs your digital file, it breaks the image into a series of rectangles that become the individual PDF images you can print out to make your panel poster artwork for coloring or mounting.

You can use any image you find online if your block poster or mural will be for your own personal use. If you want to sell mural posters you can find public domain images and free commercial use photos at several sites.
