there is also the option of Gimp which is free. It is set up a lot like Adobe photoshop but without all of the bells and whistles.

Thank you all for the great answers! Lots of possibilities to explore I see. . .I have since discovered Gimp and am seriously trying to become a Gimper (slowly though.)
I don't do any major photo editing, but I like to use picnik.com because it's quick and very easy to use.
desktop editing- GIMP, and yes.. online editing- pixlr
depend whether it free freeware or paid software
if freeware, for simple application i like Photoscape.
for paid software, i like Capture NX or Photoshop.
You can try GIMP too. Similar to Photoshop but it is free.
picassa is another good photoshop. it also uploads to most blogs.
