I agree that the aluminum ones are a lot lighter and easier to move around. Honestly, I just put nails/pushpins into my wall with a piece of raw canvas behind to protect the paint and hang my pieces since they tend to be bigger; bigger canvases=tipping off of easels, which is never fun. I use a plastic storage container for paint, and then put a glass palette on top. It works well for me, and it's a lot cheaper than investing in a wooden easel. You'll find what works best for you.
