   Does anyone work with leather?
   
   I was thinking about making cell phone holders.  I was just wondering if there is a market for that sorta thing and if you have advice.

   I've made belts and coin purses out of leather and dyed them myself, but they were for personal use.  My hubby uses cell phone holders, but when he needs one, he buys the cheap cell phone holders at the flea market for way under $5.  I've seen leather vendors at craft fairs sell one item like leather belts or they sold numerous items.  I wish you luck.  I tried selling crafts about 30 years ago, and if people aren't buying, you are stuck with a lot of merchandise.  I found that out the hard way!

   I work with leather. I make custom leather cuffs from reclaimed leather. I would say that there is a market for a cell phone holder that is unique from anything that would be found regular retail.
   
   My clients appreciate my work, not only for the personal craftsmanship, but for the uniqueness of each item; knowing that no other will have a design like their own. I have duplicity for some of my items. The designs that are duplicated, still have a slight variance, to maintain uniqueness.

   No, but I admire people who do!  I like to buy leather goods when I can.
