   JS:  Anything using paper!  Origami.  You can buy a stack of attractive origami paper or cut the paper yourself.  There are plenty of free instructions on the Internet.  I am the type of creative person who will "tweak" instructions, so I'm not that great when it comes to following the folding process.  You can make beads by gluing and rolling paper around a straw (cut into pieces).  I may write a Hub on that idea!  You can decopauge cardboard boxes for the cost of glue or Mod Podge, using pieces of magazine ads, newpaper, wrapping paper, art paper, etc.  Buy an inexpensive roll of newsprint, and you'll have drawing and painting paper for days and days.  With stamps and ink pads, you and the kids can make their own wrapping paper!  And when you're done with your paper projects, you can recycle them!

   I love Arlene's ModPodge idea. I covered cheap plastic lightswitch covers with Egyptian art pictures cut from a museum magazine & ModPodged it all. They look awesome!
   
   Here are three more ideas:
   
   You could melt down old candles to make a new candle. Either mix all the wax together or make layers of colors. All you'll need to buy is a new wick.
   
   I posted a hub about making baby onesies. You can get a five-pack of Gerber onesies for about $12.99 and them decorate them with scrap fabric or patches.
   
   Make duct tape wallets. There are some awesome duct tape wallets for inspiration at http://www.SashaTheCat.com.

   J.S......I'm a woodburner.  I take pictures of things, and put it to wood, then burn the design into the wood, paint it with water colors, or use the burner to just shade it in.  Go to my hub page and see for yourself....Under My wood burnings.  There are tons of crafts out there to do though....I can spend $40 and turn it into $1000's if I do it right....Hope that helps ya!!    Crocheting or knitting can be fairly inexpensive. For crocheting, you could get by with just a hook or two and a skein or two to start. For knitting, a pair of needles and a skein or two. Crocheting or knitting small items such as hats or scarves don't take much yarn, so end up being pretty cheap.

    My favorite place for inexpensive crafts is Pinterest. They have tons of ideas there. As for the supplies, i always go to http://corkboardsheets.com for cork board sheets.

    There are so many options out their depending on what type of crafts or subjects you like really. Pick something you are really interested in doing or else you will not finish. I love to do painting and sculpting so I know how much m materials cost me. Are you looking to do them for you or for kids?
