As an artist how would you go about arranging a one artist show and what type of venue would you...
look for?
Choose a venue that has plenty of passing foot traffic. Public halls, community centres etc, are fine, but only if you have a sufficient body of work to fill the available exhibition space. Pubs and restaurants are often happy to fill their walls with work by aspiring artists, but you have to hope that the customers are not too busy eating and drinking to notice your wonderful art on the walls around them. Open houses in local art festivals present another opportunity, and often individual homeowners are happy to rent their walls as a source of income during festivals, or even at key selling periods such as the run up to Christmas.

Original art? Photography? Framed posters? Fabric? Taxidermy? There are so many choices out there, it's fun to hear how others are decorating their walls!

I have showed at bars, festivals, art shows, on the web and it always leaves me with a lack luster feeling. I don't want to be a dead artist before some one notices me.
