Steps to sew double top-stitched seam:
- Place fabric right sides together and sew 1.5cm (5/8”) in from the edge.
- Neaten the edges using your preferred method i.e. over-locker (as in sample shown) zig-zag stitch or pinking shears.
- Press open for a neat finish.
- Then stitch two rows of stitching 5mm (2/8”) either side of the first.
Note:
By using a contrasting or complimentary colour thread this seam can be used for decoration.
