This Folder Discovered TBF Via A Book

This book is how I discovered tea bag folding. It may sound strange but I did not become aware of this craft on the Internet. There has not been new publications about TBF since the turn of the 21st century.

I discovered this at a scrapbooking fair and it introduced me to this paper craft. I was almost instantly charmed, but it took me a few months to decide what to do with the medallions and rosettes I had made.

It is the perfect book for learning to fold paper because the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Consider buying the used copy without the papers for folding. Find your old laser printed stationary for folding paper and save money for your practicing sessions.

This is an out of print book. Comeback to Amazon till you can get it for a reasonable price.

I Use the Zig Zag Paper Fold Above for Paper Rosettes

The paper fold above is also called the Zig-Zag fold. Written instructions are on Judy Headrick's Craft page. See them at Zig_Zag Fold or my tutorial at Make a Paper Flower Rosette

This is an ideal paper craft for kids. These rosettes always catch the young people's eye and it is not hard to do after a little practice.

Watch the video and match it with the written instructions and you will probably have a dozen of these made in no time for room or patio decorations.

I found that looks and styles of each paper folding artisan can be very individual and unique. Develop your style and start sending out to friends and relatives your own designs.

When choosing a paper tile for folding I would suggest the designs that are not the same in every corner. If each corner or the center has a varied motif the finished medallion will be more interesting.

@Lee Hansen: I have thought about what a tea bag folding tile should have for a long time. I like to use the varied tiles that are not a kaleidoscope with the same pattern in each corner. An abstract with a good color palette and a small motif in a corner or two, plus the center would be my ideal folding tile. I have been taking an art class to achieve something of my own in tiles. For greeting cards I almost always use 2 inch squares. Thanks for asking, Pastiche, and I certainly want to see your work when you get it published.

I really enjoy creating printable square paper designs for paper folding crafts. I'm planning a new series of patterns for my web sites - any suggestions on sizes of the squares, patterns or colors most welcome!

@anonymous: Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to your question. The Starry Night tile is very pretty since it is symmetrical on all corners almost any pattern would fold up beautifully. The wreath would be pretty and the color is perfect for the Holidays, or Lesson #2 in Tea Bag Folding | A Paper Folding Craft.
