FREE Digital Photo Editing
Create awesome digital photos for free!
This site shows photo editing tools that are fun and easy to use. Free web based photo editors, fun photo editors, photo tools like Photofunia, PicMonkey, Photo505 and more that will add bling to your photos - they are all here. A few mentions of PC based tools like GIMP, but the focus is on those services that are available with an Internet connection and a browser. I have been using these tools for awhile, started writing about one and that slowly morphed into sharing information on dozens of photo editing tools.
From a Team of Former Picnikers
PicMonkey, a creation of several former Google engineers offers a simple and easy to use tool for editing and altering your images. The entirely Web-based editor is fast and effective, and the cleanest interface for a photo editor (Web or desktop) that I've come across. In the left-hand column you see all of your options. And that includes everything from basics likes cropping and rotating to a full array of air-brushing edits. In Picnik style, you can add icons and text and throw a frame around a photo. Basic edits consist of crop, resize, rotate, as well as color tweaking and sharpening.
iPiccy - Compare with Picnik, Photoshop Express, Fotoflexer, Citrify
iPiccy is a free, completely web-based photo editing and sharing application to give users everywhere the ability to quickly and easily edit, enhance and share their photos from any Internet browser. There are other web based editors like Photoshop Express, Picmonkey, and Citrify but iPiccy's is a strong competitor to these services. iPiccy provides new, easy-to-use tools for modifying pictures, using advanced image processing.
iPiccy offers a clear and easy interface allowing users to pull images from any Web site or file folder on their computer. iPiccy includes an extensive variety of easy Web-based photo-editing tools such as Auto-fix, Rotate, Crop, Resize and Color adjustment and Sharpen which you have come to expect in any photo editor. But in addition, iPiccy can also be used to turn photos into creative masterpieces, with clever special effects like liquify, painter, vignette, pencils, and many more. Some of these are features you would have to upgrade to premium service with other online photo editors. Like Photoshop, it even has an advanced photo painter that works with levels for the most complex types of photo editing.
Photofunia - Fun image editor
Photofunia is an online image editing tool that gives users a fun filled experience. Users can upload any photos and just wait to see the wonder it does. The most amazing thing is how it identifies the face automatically in the photo. You need some clear photo shots - passport or school photo style works best.
Fotor Photo Editor
Fotor is a photo editing web application that's suitable for people looking for an easy to use and affordable photo editor. It is especially valuable if you do photo editing on different platforms/devices. Fotor sports a Windows 8 interface (but also has a Windows version for 7 and earlier) and allows you to your photos a wide range of looks, to add fancy borders, to create a collage or simply fix some imperfections, Fotor is free to use so long as your browser runs Flash. Fotor's clean interface sports a dual pane toolbar on the left with thumbnails of all the photos (you can upload many at once) for your session on the right and your editing workspace in the middle of the screen. From this basic interface you have access to a full range of free photo editing tools. With Picmonkey starting to charge for certain services, editors like Fotor will probably see more traffic.
For when you are working offline, Fotor also has companion apps for the iPhone/iPad, the Android, Macintosh, Windows and Windows 8 so you can and use Fotor across many devices. By far it is the best cross-platform photo editing tool.

Once up on a time photobooths could be found in amusement parks, arcades, train stations, and on main street stores around the world. Several generations in the 1900s grew up with the photobooth as a primary method of recording special events. While they can still be found in amusement parks and arcades - they no longer hold the special unique appeal. With cell phone cameras, disposable cameras and the full range of digital technology photobooths have less of a role.
However, there are many online tools that let you take your digital photos and create the photostrips that were once only obtainable in a photobooth. Try out some of these tools and add some vintage appeal to your digital photos.
