35 Euro Cars That Can Save America: # 8 - Peugeot 107

Everything great that can be said of the superb Toyota Aygo and Citroën C1 can be also applied to the Peugeot clone, the remarkable 107. It's priced about 10% higher than the C1 and you really don't get much more for the money, so my choice would still be the C1. However, I can understand that there are some people who think Citroën and immediately see horrific 2CVs and bulbous SMs dancing in front of their eyes, so if it makes them feel better to pay more money to not have the silly Citroën double chevron staring back at them in the middle of the steering wheel, then so be it!

The Peugeot 107 Hatchback 1.0 Urban Lite 3 Door is estimated to carry a North American net sale price of $10,176.74, given the prevailing market pricing of similar automobiles. Its 998 cc engine powers the car to a top speed of 100 MPH and an acceleration shown by a zero to sixty MPH time of 14.2 seconds. The performance factor of 10.0 is average for its class. The Peugeot 107 Hatchback 1.0 Urban Lite 3 Door returns 68.8 MPG in highway driving, 51.3 MPG in the city, and a combined loop mileage of 61.3. With a fuel tank capacity of 7.7 gallons, the car can travel 530 miles on a full tank of unleaded regular fuel, but when it's filled right up to the top of the fuel filler neck, the total range should be approximately 638 miles. When all these price, performance and mileage factors are taken into consideration, the Peugeot 107 Hatchback 1.0 Urban Lite 3 Door scores a combined Practicality Index of 81, with 100 representing the best, most practical car available and 1 representing a Hummer H3.

What Francophonie planet do you come from where 2CVs are attractive? Maybe you've spent the last 40 years hauling sugar cane off Reunion's hills with one? :)
