Ask DJ Lyons: 1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe in Light Blue

1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe in Light Blue

Do you like vintage cars?

I didn't realize how much I enjoyed vintage cars until my husband and I happened upon a car show held in Greeneville, Tennessee. Fortunately, I had my digital camera with me. I shot pictures and video footage of the cars that attracted me the most.

I really loved this 1957 light blue Chevy with the white roof. My husband tells me that these cars were known as classics. Wouldn't it be fun to go to a drive-in movie in a car like this? What do you think? There is a comment section at the bottom of this hub if you would like to share your thoughts.

Here is a picture of a 1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe. Click 1957 CHEVY to watch a very short video of this car. The video is 49 seconds long. Enjoy!

I have a 57 Chevy restored to original. I have a hub on it too.

I love to take it to the drive inn and such, but I am the only one in the family

that appreciates it.

Awesome car! Excellent Hub. I have a friend with a 57 Bel Air (red). My favorite classic car? Well my first car, bought for me by my daddy, was a 69 Shelby GT 350. I wrecked it. But I also named my daughter after it. I guess that is my favorite classic car. :)

James, thank you for visiting and commenting. It's too bad your favorite car got wrecked but how fun that you named your daughter after it. That makes for a great story! Perhaps you can write a hub about that if you haven't already.

Best wishes to you and yours,

Debbie aka DJ Lyons

Crash Test 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air VS. 2009 Chevrolet Malibu (Frontal Offset) IIHS 50th Anniversary

Some unique facts about vintage Chevy Bel Air cars

I was seeking to find some extra interesting facts to add about Vintage Chevy Bel Air cars. I was really surprised to see the crash test between a 1959 Bel Air and a modern car. I figured the heavier body of the Bel Air would really do a number on the modern car. Much to my surprise, I saw that it was the other way around.

As you can see from watching the video, the driver in the Bel Air would have been a goner due to the lack of having an air bag in the car. Also the car body did not hold up nearly as well as the cars made nowadays. That was a real eye-opener.
