Delmarva Bike Week 2012
I wish.....
Up Before The Sun....
Waking up at 530 on a Saturday morning is not always my favorite thing to do, but it was going to be a spectacular day that the Lord had planned... We needed to have the bike moving at 650 in the morning to meet the rest of the East Coast Watchmen for the ride down to Ocean City MD...
We pull out with a fall chill in the air to remind us that summer was over, and for most people leathers would be required for this morning, me on the other hand this is my time of year a long sleeved shirt is what I wore...
As we arrived at the meeting place we run into (not literally either) Blaze & Sunshine from Calvary's Thunder, it was nice to see them first thing in the morning I actually thought they were going to join us for the ride down to Delmarva Bike Week... it turns out Blaze was headed out with the "boys" to OCC and Sunshine was headed off to the chapter meeting...
So after meeting up with Butch & Ann and praying with all that were there that day before heading our separate ways for a beautiful day of riding... We prayed that God would open hearts, minds, and souls for us to speak to, and that He prepare us and place His words on our hearts, as well as the safety for all the motorcycle riders... We pulled out and headed west on US 40... Just before we got into DE. we stopped at the Cracker Barrel for breakfast, you got to try the Apple Strudel French Toast.... went over big at our table 3 out of 4 of us ordered it.... Dont worry the calories dont count when you are out with brothers and sisters in Christ...
After breakfast we pulled out and headed across the delaware memorial bridge then south on 13, we stopped once for fuel just before we got to the area where we knew the CMA was... After parking the bikes we headed off to walk around the fair grounds, sometimes there is a chance to minister and sometimes it is just the fact that you are there for people to see you...
Today was a day to develop relationships within our own chapter, pray for friends, and meet some new ones, you see my wife and I are new to East Coast Watchmen, not to CMA... God has laid it on our hearts to come and help them build their chapter to flourish in spreading the gospel to all that the Lord will lead us to...
Butch had a friend we were meeting down there his name was Marty, and I hope I get his wife's name right I think it was Lisa, at first I wasnt sure about Marty's faith but as the day went on it was very clear he also had a heart for the Lord, another biker in Christ, amen... Well after a lot of talking, telling of a few war stories, we headed north, a great day out with the Lord by our side...
Welcome To Outback LOL
So we roll out of bike week heading north Marty in the lead, we are letting him find a place for dinner, we pass bikes at all the fast food joints and we blow by Applebee's then we pull a U-turn and all I see is an IHOP, I am like really?? IHOP?? then I say thank you Lord for providing a meal, Marty rolls into the turn for IHOP and passes it by and comes to stop in front of a Texas Roadhouse, now we are talking STEAK.... So we are seated and the hostes comes over and says Welcome to Outback, we all had a good laugh over that one...
After a few more war stories of times long ago, and not so long ago, a great meal in our bellies, we are ready to head out into a beautiful sunset only the Lord could paint... A rainbow with no middle, clouds swirled in perfection, and colors only God could put together for our view... What a blessing to enjoy this with a growing friendship among Godly people... As we crossed the bridge into NJ a thought this is what we need...
Put God First where he belongs and the blessing are endless....
Thank you God for such a wonderful memory and a small glimpse into what heaven will be...
God Bless each of you with a peace only the Holy Spirit can provide....
