How to Find 1991-94 Mercury Capri Wheels

Many owners wish to upgrade their stock rims or wheels on their 1991-94 Mercury Capri cars and find it to be a problem. Knowing the rim specs will make it easy to find after market rims, which are plentiful.

The basic specs are: 14 or 15" dia, 4 lug holes spaced 100 mm apart, offset is 45mm for best results, however, offset can be 40mm (one does not want the brake calipers etc., clashing with the wheel rims). The rim width is either 5.5 or 6". The lug nuts are 4.5" long. How this would look is:

14x5.5" 4-100mm, offset 45mm

Because MANY cars on the road today have these identical specs, there are lots of wheels. The Capri is built on a Mazda 323 suspension, so first check out the wheels for Mazdas, especially the the Capri's sister, the Miata. For those wanting the 5 spoke rims that many 95 Capri's had and are now hard to find, the Enkei 5 Spoke rim is a very close match at 15x6".

1991 to 1994 Mercury Capri's have a 4 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern, not a 4 on 100mm.

This should be removed, lest someone buys the wrong wheels. They are a 4x114, not a 4x100.
