Thanks for writing your answer in the form of a hub. Freedom and independence...I think most people associate those feelings expecially with their first car.

Nice to think of those first car memories! After the first few years of my first new car, the get up and go decided to take a nap. Stalling at traffic lights was not fun!

Nice that this question could bring back such happy memories for you. :))

Not surprising! Often those older cars if kept in good condition are now more valuable to collectors and cost more money than they did originally. Wonder if Jay Leno has any like yours in his garage?

Sounds like you had a lot of fun with that first car of yours! At least it lasted a good 10 years and you have your nice memories. Nice answer!
My very first new car was also a Pontiac. I thought that it was a beauty with soft green bottom and a white top. That is a funny story about your dog Charlie and the officer. The officer probably did not see quite as much humor in it as you did.

It is fun to look back upon those days for so many reasons. Getting that first car was a bit of a right of passage or sign of truly growing up and becoming more independent for many of us of similar vintage. :)
You are fortunate that your car did not become totally engulfed in flames due to that bad wiring. At least you have those good memories and so do the other bridal couples that you transported. :)
Piece of junk or not...sounds like you had a good time with that first car. You certainly have some fun memories! Ha!
