   No! I believe that if drunk driving penalties included forfeiture of your vehicle, including a vehicle someone stupidly allowed you to borrow while you were drunk, then the penalty would fit the crime. Unless and until we treat drunk driving as the potentially deadly crime that it is more innocent people will die on our highways .......for nothing!

   No, except, perhaps, for Sweden, unless I've been misinformed, if a driver in Sweden is caught drunk driving, any driving licence holder in the car, whether drunk or not, is also prosecuted for drunk driving?

   No, at least not in the states. Just really expensive to pay for. From the court cost, to the court fees, the tickets, and DUI classes. Your just mainly hit in the pockets. But punishment wise, no tough at all.

   NO , No and No . When you can look at articles online and find drunk drivers who are waitting trial for killing and get another DUI while out on bail,  they shouldn 't eve get bail if they kill someone. If a Drunk can kill and get a year house arrest and be able to drive and work what kind of message is that?? The drunk driver who killed my child "might" spend 2 years behind bars before he is once again in the bars. The drun k ahs access to Fb and posts with NO remorse for my family to see  and hear about. I don't feel that's punishment. The drunk got free medical and free surgeries and free legal. Having a high powered lawyer isn't even necessary in a DUI case. His fine was 70 dollars yes 70.00 not thousands or tens of thousands like the private attorney's want you to believe. Our system treats the drunk like the victim and the victim and or survivors like the criminal, this needs to stop.    No, According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 32,885 people died in traffic crashes in 2010 in the United States (latest figures available), including an estimated 10,228 people who died in drunk driving crashes, accounting for 31% of all traffic deaths last year.
