To kick-start or not to kick-start?

Okay, I recently bought a 1977 Yamaha XS650 as my first bike. It has a kick start as well as electric start. My husband is jealous because his 1982 Honda CB900C does not have one but he says that he does not think that I will want to use my kick start. I think I would love it! Is there any mechanical or physical reason why a woman would not or should not use a kick start? Yes, he's a big boy, no I am not a big girl, but does size really matter when refferencing a kick start?
