Wow...is this CEO an idiot or what??? Greed corrupts. In the economy of today, what is this man smoking or shooting up to publicly suggest that a $1 tax be added to gas prices in order to force Americans to go out and BUY a NEW GM smaller, more gas efficient vehicle?

"While gas prices have decreased a bit, GM’s CEO Dan Akerson would like to see them go higher. He thinks raising the federal gas tax to $1 will force Americans to buy smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles and thus helping the auto industry. What you think. Will this help? Is this just greed?"--from local TV Station report.

I would boycott GM. Guess his CEO bonus is not a high enough double-digit in millions of dollars this year!!!

Hey Michael, I guess the CEO is showing off his own ignorance. Let him, he'll only ruin the company he works for. It goes to show the sheer stupidity of some people. lol

Especially with the Economic status of America. It IS one of the dumbest statements a CEO could possibly make during this continued problem. lol

"Let him, he'll only ruin the company he works for." Yes but the tax payers just bail them out - not that long ago. Oh the evils of socialism.

It's not socialism. It's the status quo, which needs to be broken.

That status quo is what is killing America, as a whole. sad
