Some new automatic transmission cars now have paddle shifters by the steering wheel where you press to shift up and down manual (even though the car can shift on its own). Do you use them? Or are they mainly an useless feature?
I've had them on the last two cars I use for work. I rarely use them, however I do find them useful for downshifting on long hills instead of braking.
Using them for downshifting is a great idea. I noticed that some cars with paddleshifters no longer have a "low gear" like in the old days.
