Fountain Pens: It's Something That Everyone Needs and Uses

Updated on June 7, 2016

Pens

It's pretty interesting to note how many people will take a pen that is offered and will put it in their purse. I have lots of pens that have business names on them. Phone numbers. Or, even, funny sayings like this pen was stolen from somewhere.

I used to get fliers from a pen company. I always wanted to get pencils or pens with my name on them. I thought it was cool. Now, I'd be interested in getting pens with my name on them again.

Pen Companies

When I was in high school, I used to get advertisements from National Pen Company It was pretty neat. You'd actually receive a pen in the mail with information on how to order more. What was special about their pens was that you could write whatever you wanted on them and they'd print them up.

I cannot quite recall, but I seem to remember that my name was on the pen. That's the kicker Most people love stuff with their own name on it. I'm no different.

Pen Research

I did my homework. I googled National Pen Company and discovered that they are still promoting pen products. Actually, it sounds like a fun opportunity to join their affiliate program. I may just have to do it.

Pens

It occurs to me that I have a lot of pens in my possession. We do have a tendency to take pens from places of business when we are given the opportunity. I would feel guilty about that, but I am expected to partake of the stealing the pen traditions.

Pens are advertising. How many times do you glance at the lettering on your pen and study it when you are on the spot, or at a loss for words, or just plain bored out of your mind. Yeah. That's right. PLENTY.

Pens

Now, if your are really creative like my brother in law, you can make your own pens using a pen blank and a wood lathe. Sure, sure, it takes a bit of extra effort to stand in front of a wood lathe and turn your own pens, but he gets the guts from Rocker and he gives them away as Christmas presents each year. He also makes his own pen boxes.

How cool is that???

Good Customer Service

Yes. Giving away a pen with your company name on it is like creating good will and harmony. Plus, that person will stare at your advertising every time they need a second to unwind and think about their day.

Plus, when they are doing their routine, like paying bills, your name will grace their eye balls and will play on their mind, simply because you chose to give them a pen with your information on it.

Smart, huh? They say it pays to advertise. Why not take advantage of it?
