Google Panda Update Digs on Inferior Content

Reinforcing the Credibility of SERPs

Google have always tried to ensure that search engine optimization (SEO) operators do not undermine the credibility of search engine result pages (SERPs). SEO services operators have always been digging to understand search engine behavior and tried to find ways and means to make use of the loopholes left by the search engines. On the contrary, the latter have been continually trying to further improve upon its anti-spamming features. For search engines, the credibility of their results pages is far more important for enjoying the continued following among the internet users, while, for SEO companies, getting the links were considered to be more important. But, not any more. Panda update of Google is aimed to punish inferior quality content and reward the one which is really useful for the people.

Google has emphasized the need for quality content showing up on its results pages as per the keywords entered by the users. For achieving this end, it has always tried the different methods of ascertaining the quality as well as the authenticity of the web resources and ensured that these remain at the top of its SERPs. It has adopted the strategy of rewarding the quality and punishing the inferior or unreal stuff. So, while it designates some of the sites such as Wikipedia as authority sites, it also takes a hard look at the link building strategies adopted by the search engine optimization service providers.

The Punishment-Panda Style

Content matters have been of particular importance this year. The severe reprimand of the content farms including some of the very famous and high page rank content sites was an awakening call to these resources to take more measures for ensuring that the content quality is not compromised. It made even the seemingly untouchable article directories to stand up and take note of what Google is asking them to do. Only an original and unique piece of article was not going to be sufficient. Now, it wanted the content submission directories to be welcoming the thought provoking and research based content. A more crude focus was on what is being written in the content, not just on how and with what style.

Letting The Users Decide What is Important

Thereafter, Google turned another leaf when it introduced the +1. Behind this measure was a simple aim to give the users the handle to determine whether the web pages they are visiting are of some value to them or not. If they found the content or the web page to be useful then they simply had to click the +1 button. More the clicks by the users, more is the importance of that webpage. This is, in fact, a way to check that the other methods of judging the importance of a webpage, such as the number of in-links to the site or page, are not misused blatantly.

As if these were not sufficient, a more thorough shake up has unfolded very recently. What is Panda Update and how does it impact the SEO? As mentioned earlier, it is certainly not sufficient to keep on writing unique content, original or borrowed. It is now far more important how the users perceive the content that you present to them. So, user experience assumes importance.

It does not want the webmasters and SEO providers to be concerned only with stuffing of the keywords at all the right places and in right numbers. Now, it is far more important that the focus shifts from the keyword usage to the innovative effort that has gone into the making of the site unique. The essence of this is that the user shall be able to get what he wants and in a distinctive way which is liked by him. There shall be no fooling around of the users, from one page to another. This means that the strategy of web design and marketing through social media resources becomes very important.

All in all, if the search engine services providers remain sticking to the very basic fundamentals like total quality-orientation, keeping SEO out of their heads for some time, then there are not many issues to confront irrespective of the updates. It is when too much of the SEO thought takes over that the problems begin since there is a tendency to beat every damn competitor which certainly results in faltering quality.
