Earning Money On-line - My Experience
Learn from your mistakes
I think I've learned from my mistakes. A few years ago I was a stay at home mom, who wanted to try to make money on the Internet. Well, I made some money, but not much money. I lost so much more money then I made and I lost time that I could have spent with my two little children instead.
The biggest mistake I made was that I was involved with too many on-line business companies and too many advertising sites. I even had a couple of websites that kept me busy. It took a lot of time, so I found a regular job instead and quit all my on-line business. Now I'm making money off-line and I'm really happy to be able to work with people who appreciate what I do, and to get that pay check every month.
So, do I regret that I spent all my time and too much money on on-line businesses? No, not really. I learned so much about on-line business and as I wrote articles and e-mails, my English improved. I got to know some very nice people from all over the world on different social network sites. I learned that you can't be a member on every money making web site and make money. You don't have that much time. Nobody has enough time to run a business on ten different sites. It really takes much time. You need to choose a business you really like and believe in. I didn't do that. I wanted to be successful everywhere and make money here and there. I didn't. Mostly a made a few dollars - on different sites - that never was paid to me due to the small amounts. I made a couple of hundred dollars that actually were paid out to me. I don't know and I don't want to know how much I spent. When it comes to an on-line business, quality is more important than quantity.
I guess I'm not alone in this boat. As a newbie you make mistakes. Some are going to succeed and has succeeded and I'm happy for them. I don't really need that success on-line anymore. Of course it would be easy to live a life doing something you really like and to be earning much money. I'd rather live the life I have now. I have a good job, earn money, spend time with my family and I've also started studying. It's a good life. I have all I need and could even afford to go on a trip with my family this summer.
Now that I'm on vacation and have some extra time, I found HubPages again. I started my writing here two years ago but I never really had time for HubPages. It was a period in my life when I didn't know what to do to make money. As I just wrote, I tried everything on-line. I've always loved to write and now I'm writing here again just for fun and to improve my English. Reading, writing and learning languages are some of my biggest interests. I think I should keep it on that level and not see my interests as a job.
I hope you will find something in life that makes you happy and that you don't do the same mistakes as I did with my on-line businesses. Keep writing and keep earning weather it's on-line or off-line. And if you are making some mistakes, make sure you learn something from them.
Some tips for your online business
The tips I can give others, who want to make money on the Internet (as an unsuccessful newbie on-line business owner myself) is:
- Do some research on on-line companies before you choose one to work with.
- Make sure the company isn't a scam and find some reliable sources that can guarantee that it's a serious company.
- Don't believe that you can start making money over night. It will probably take a few months.
- Be prepared to work hard both nights and days.
- Make some good contacts and on-line friends on social network sites.
- Make sure you know how to advertise and try to find some good sites.
- Don't pay (too much) for your advertising.
- Be kind to people and show your appreciations by making comments on people's works.
- Help people, and answer their questions if you can, because that will give you a good reputation on-line.
