Fun, Easy and Inexpensive Recipes - Magic With Ground Beef

Jackalopes and Nutrition

Dedicated to B.T. Evilpants.

Jackalopes in Michigan love Shepherd's Pie and I have had a request for such a recipe and am happy to produce it here from the old recipe box.

In addition to that great dish with an international flair, I have included several other ground beef recipes that are fast and delicious. Any of the ground beef in these recipes can be replaced with ground turkey, diced eggplant or even cubes of stew meat or sausage chunks. It's all good. I like to grill or broil thick eggplant slices first in olive oil and then cut into cubes.

I hope you enjoy these...

These look wonderful! But if you keep swelling the jackalope's head like this, I may have to send him to live with you!

I run a working dojo and he'll have to earn his keep by polishing floors with cotton cloths on elbows and knees before the evening meal of SW shepherd's pie and Admiral Halse... - Hey! - that's pie and pie.

One-week-only reservations are available beginning November 32nd, 2013. Payment will be in gold bullion or beef buillion, whichever is more valuable at the time. Thank you muchly so.

Pay no mind to dragon boy, Patty. I guarantee he will make that pie for me before the weekend is over. I love the video, by the way. I'll never forget my time with Dave Coulier.

That video with the jackalope was funny. B.T., I had no idea your head was so much smaller than your body....was that something that time and filling out fixed?

Patty, that video bastardizing my boys' songs traumatized me for a minute, but then I relaxed and enjoyed it. I still remember the chef from when my kids watched the muppets.

The food all looks so good! Wish I cooked.

Nice job, Patty! But RMR may be right, you may be flirting with danger here. A jackalope out of control can be a frightening thing.

How dangerous could I be with an education in the martial arts? I can do wax-on/wax-off for hours!

Legs and bikini lines? Are your prices reasonable, I may be able to send a little business your way.

Free classes once a week at the local rec center too, but keep in mind ...The lower the price, the harder the work...

but the better the results.

Wonder how many bookings Patty will get?

Patty Inglish, MS profile image

We could do a TV show called "Cooking with Judo for All Shapes and Sizes."

Shirley Anderson profile image

Shirley Anderson 8 years ago from Ontario, Canada

LOL. I can see it now. B.T. could be your assistant. Please make him wear a frilly apron, and don't forget to keep the butter tarts out of the studio.

This could be really good for your sideline business. Patrons'll be booking reservations into the next century.

We could be really successful - we'll get all of the viewing audience that no longer has the Red Green Show to enjoy. I wonder what Graham Greene is doing these days....

You want me to get a job??? I have a certain image to keep. If I were to participate, it would be as the official taster of all foods prepared. And no frilly aprons! Although I did wear a kilt for a brief period.

Patty Inglish, MS profile image

A KILT? Did you play the babblepipes as well? Kit and Kaboodle it will be then.

Well, yes, the Official taster and we will have some others we well.

A bagpipe playing jackalope wearing a kilt and eating butter tarts. Hmmm. Only on Hubpages.

I was dating a certain Scottish gal at the time. Shes a BIG celeb, over there.

And does Nessie wear a kilt, too?

Just out of curiousity, what did you two do when you went out on dates? You don't swim, she loves the water.

I may be evil, but even I don't kiss and tell.

That's the Nessalope. The jaunty Tam-o-Shanter is covering the antler nubbins. He was just wee when this photo was taken.

Oh! 'Nuff said.

He's cute, got your eyes.

Patty, I'm a ground beef lover, it fed my ever growing always full of kids family for many years. I have to tell you I did the Shepherd's Pie this week and wow, it was yummy. Even my husband enjoyed it ( the only change was real mashed potatoes on top, but instant is great too, we were just in the mood to splurge.)

What would we do without your well written recipes and inspiration to cook! PLUS your sense of humor -- very nicely done!!

I am really gl;ad you like it, marisue writes. I fyour husband enjoyed it, that sound like an honor. Do you like mashed potatoes with some of the skins still on? - That's a variation is is delicious to me. :)

Would you believe I googled nessalope, and ended up here? You were the #1 result! You must be making money, hand over fist. I know millions of people are probably googling that word! I should be getting a cut, since that's my kid!

Thank you for giving so much publicity to BT! I'm really hoping this will help him get a job, so he can move out of my house!! I don't think a successful political career is in the cards, for that guy.

Hi Patty,

I tried your Southwest Shepherd's pie in a Flash. Very Tasty and the only Shepard' pie recipe I now have that's not required to bake in the oven. Thanks and oh yes, I just loved the vids.

Dottie!, it makes me happy that you liked the recipe. The vids give something extra to food preparation. :) Much fun.

goe 7 years ago

why would you use boxed mashed potatoes instead of real mashed potatoes to make shepards pie. thats just downright lazy

Patty Inglish, MS profile image

Because some people are in a hurry or lazy, why else?
