Using a calculator to help count the candy sales will be a good idea, or you call use a pencil and paper to calculate the candy sales for each customer. Being courteous to your customers will be a good idea, especially when your selling candy from you're home or garage. Many of your customers you may know them personally, since they are coming from your neighborhood.

When you're selling candy from home, you will need to be organized. You can set up attractive candy displays, with proper lighting. This way the customers can see the name of the candies or other items, with bright lighting. Organizing your candy displays in order, will help for a tendency to buy more candy.

How to Sell Candy from Home

Start by getting bulks of candy at a whole-sale store that sells candy buy the bulk; such as 'Smart & Final.' Also you can sell other items that are not candy; small bags of 'popcorn' in bulk amounts, 'toy candy dispensers' in bulk, and Twinkies (cupcakes). Smaller children will like buying toy candy dispensers because they get a toy and candy all-in-one.

After a customer pays for all of their candy items, it will be a good idea to put all their candies in a 'zip lock bag' (small zip lock bag or medium). This is for customers that bought quite a bit of items from you. The 'Zip-Lock Bags' can be purchased by you at a 99¢ Store, which come in a box of about 10-15 per box.

Of course you will need customers, and this can be done by word-of-mouth. Once your first customer buys candy, then that customer will tell the next person; and the word-of-mouth is all you will need.

Kool Aid Ice - How to Make Homemade Popsicles

Also for an added bonus to your candy selling business, you can make 'Kool Aid Ice cups.' Selling Kool Aid Icy cups in the summer time will be a great idea. First, you will need to get a large pack of Styrofoam cups from the 99¢ Store. Then you will need to get many packs of 'powdered Kool Aid' at a grocery store (the real Kool Aid brand). Try to get a few flavors like: cherry, lemon, grape, and lime.

  1. Mix one pack of Kool Aid into a large water-pitcher, with water.
  2. Add 3 ounces of sugar then mix with a large spoon.
  3. Layout all the 'stirofoam cups' you will need, on a table or counter top.
  4. Pour the Kool Aid into the cups, and then place them in the freezer.
  5. Depending on the available freezer space you have, you can put up to 10 Kool Aid cups in your freezer over-night. Or fill-up a deep-freezer full of Kool Aid icy cups, if you plan to have continuous sells of them, especially in the Summer.
  6. Then you're ready to add "Kool Aid Icy cups" to your candy selling business; and make your prices for the icy cups.
  7. Example; each 'icy cup' can go for about $1.00 per cup (one dollar), this way you are paying yourself back for the purchase of the cups and the Kool Aid packs purchase as well.

Did u have to get license

You'll need a city or county business license to sell products out your home. Usually can get one for a low price, and can get the license at a court building or anywhere in your county where business licenses are provided. The process is simple, it's like the same licenses that are for a childcare license but under a different category of course.

Is this legal in Texas? Can I get evicted from my apartment??

Hi Krys, try asking your apartment manager to sign a permission letter for you to sell. Also get a license from your city clerks office for small home business, it's easy and quick. I hope for you all the best. Peace

I have a big bag of Jolly Ranchers candy I also have some Starburst candy and mints and salt water taffy and I don't know who to sell these candies?

Hi Jasmine, maybe you can let a few children know that you are selling candies, and they can let more children know that you sell candy. Another idea is maybe you can print a flyer, and tape it inside of a window showing how much the candy cost. Also you can include the hours you're going to sell the candy, such as Monday - Saturday 10 am - 4:30 pm.
