Squidoo Earnings: My Squidoo Income Diary

My Squidoo Journey

I started using Squidoo sometime in the middle of 2011. From the beginning, my earnings from the site were just a few dollars a month. In fact, my first payout was less than a dollar. The next few payouts after that were between 5 to 10 dollars. 2012 came and there was a huge jump in my January payout. If I remember it right, it was over $60 but less than $70. It was a huge improvement and it made me realize that Squidoo does have a huge potential as a great source of extra income.

So I doubled my time creating more lenses and improving the existing ones. My monthly payouts gradually improved as well. Just this April, I broke the $100 mark. This encouraged me even more to create more pages on Squidoo.

What this page is all about.

As the title suggests, this page will be a record of my Squidoo earnings starting with my April 2012 payout where I broke the $100 dollar mark. Every month, I will show you how much I earned, how many lenses I have and the techniques I used to generate more revenue from my lenses.

*Total Earnings: $109.46 less the PayPal transaction fee of $1=$108.46

*I have a total of 175 lenses but only 47 of them were royalty-earning lenses. This means that more than half of my lenses earned me nothing.

Due to my accounts being banned (for unknown reasons) I only got $12 this month. It's really unfortunate but I'm working hard on getting back on my feet as far as Squidoo is concerned.

Very interesting hub. I have only written a few lenses and never stuck with it much. I would be real interested if you compared it to your experience on hub pages and what your overall recommendation would be, hubpages or squidoo?

@Lipnancy - I am earning much more from Squidoo than from HubPages. That said, I'll recommend Squidoo over HubPages.

I wrote one article on Squidoo, and they didn't even publish it. I wrote to their help desk, and they gave me every answer except one that fit. After waiting several months, I deleted my account. I find HubPages much easier to navigate.
