Whoa, Dads Aren't Supposed To Stay Home!

There are a growing number of people, especially dads, who are actively changing the traditional roles that are expected of them. More moms are going to a work place, while more dads are making the work place their home. Why?

Well, let's just say that in the past decades the whole idea of "household roles" has changed. Less and less, there is a clear cut situation where the traditional values may pertain. Maybe mom has a better job and can make more money. Perhaps, she wants to be the bread earner. Dads, too, are finding that they're not too bad at cleaning ovens and feeding kids.

The Internet Made It So Much Easier

In times past there may have been an issue with only one parent, or spouse, bringing home some money for the "kitty". With today's higher cost of living it is almost necessary for both adults in a household to work and make a salary. But what about young parents who are having kids?

Making babies, while fun and rewarding, just brings more expenses to a house. Besides, someone has to stay home and watch those little whipper-snappers! So, mom stays home through the maternity and weaning session but this is where some of the changing is happening. In a growing number of households, once mom is recovered and the infant can be left without her during the day, it's mom hitting the commute to the office again. Dad? Well, dad is doing his thing from the house.

The internet has made it possible for legitimate money earning to be done from a Living Room, USA. Preferably, though, there's a home office set-up somewhere with a baby monitor turned up to full blast!

What Are These Internet Options Of Which We Speak?

There's a number of ways to make money by staying at home and working from a computer. A semi-talented person can actually have many ways of making money at home and uses them all to his or her advantage.

Article Writing: Writing for sites like Hubpages, Squidoo, Triond, and the Yahoo! Contributors Network can earn money on a residual base. While not a whole lot of money up-front, the money that is possible from residual earnings can compound and compound. Other sites like and Break Studios offer up-front pay for article, blog, press release and prodcuct description content. In either case, the more you write-the more you make.

Blogging: This is becoming more and more popular. There are millions of blogs on the internet today, many monetized, on a myriad of different topics and niches. Find the right one that people are always seeking out and the residual earning is possible through advertising-either direct or earnings-per-click (EPC).

Transcription: A client sends you files on your computer and you compile them and re-write or transcribe video/audio recordings. Can you type fast? The more words, the more money.

Web-Design/Coding: Do you have a knack for computers, design and building websites? Well, then build your own business site and start putting yourself services out there for rent! People make a big chunk of change building websites...especially if you know a little bit about Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Great Hub! I have never been so happy then I am right now, working as a writer from home. My stress level has been reduced by 90% and I work when I want to. It is so cool to be able to get up and go to the grocery store while taking a break from writing an article. Great hub... This is really where the future is. Well done!

I appreciate you saying so. I agree...the future is all about this. I read an article the other day (I was going to put reference it in the Hub but couldn't find the link!) that said a study showed an increasing amount of employers allowing remote work stations...and an INCREASE in productivity. Hmmm...thanks again!

I get a lot more accomplished in a day when I work when I want to. I worked in healthcare for 28 years and I do not want to be stuffed into an office for 8-12 hours anymore. I gave up a lot to work for myself at home, but I have never been richer in living and life.
