USA Today Summer Internships
Work with nationally recognized journalists at the nation’s largest circulation newspaper during semester-long fall, spring, and summer internships in the News, Money, Sports, Life, and Editorial Page sections and the summer-only Computer Assisted Reporting (CAR) internships. These unpaid internships which must be taken for academic credit, offer a $100 monthly transportation stipend.
Interns work in our state-of-the-art headquarters in Tysons Corner, Va. Free parking is available and a Fairfax Connector bus (Number 425), originating at the West Falls Church Metro Station, stops at the door. In addition, one internship per semester, reporting to both Life and Money sections is available at the newspaper’s New York City bureau.
MyYosemitePark.com Blogging Internship
Get real-life experience writing, blogging, and reporting on newsworthy, as well as interesting, topics related to Yosemite National Park and travel and adventure in the Yosemite National Park, and immediately surrounding areas. Intern will be expected to provide at least five blog posts per week that average 200 words each in length. In addition to the blog posts, the intern will provide approximately two additional content pieces per week. These could be articles for non-blog sections of the MyYosemitePark.com website, or one article plus one video, or a photo slide show, etc. Ideal candidate will be adept at chasing down and reporting on interesting or newsworthy topics for the blog, as well as securing photos that are free to use, to accompany most posts and articles. (via Flickr’s Creative Commons, etc.) Ideal candidate will also be expected to make short, quick, regular updates to the website’s corresponding Facebook fan page, which will automatically also update its Twitter profile. Public Relations Intern
The San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau seeks motivated, organized interns for our dynamic Public Relations team. Internships are not paid, but students will receive a $575 stipend at the end of the internship. Our interns gain practical experience in their field while forging important connections in the industry through professional association luncheons and other networking opportunities. Internships are part-time, 16-20 hours per week for 8 weeks on average (hours and length of internship are highly flexible).
The PR intern will be responsible for writing press releases and other projects as assigned, including assisting domestic and international journalists with inquiries and fact checking, sorting media clippings for routing among Bureau staff and members, updating press kit materials as needed and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: · Must be able to write well under deadline pressure, paying attention to detail and accuracy. · Must have working knowledge of AP style. · Must be a college junior, senior, or graduate student majoring in journalism, public relations, or a related field. · Must have awareness of and interest in local, regional and global current events. · Must be familiar with San Francisco and the Bay Area. · Must be able to communicate well verbally and in written form. · Should have an interest in public relations as a potential career. · Should possess good clerical and organizational skills, including proficiency in computers (Internet research, MS Office, and able to learn new software). · Should enjoy working with people. SFBayShop.com is a site with shopping information for 27 districts in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are looking for columnists for each of our shopping districts. The right person should be interested in fashion and shopping and the monthly assignment is to travel through the district (you can see all the districts posted on the site www.sfbayshop.com)and find out what is new on the street and write a column monthly with all the latest and greatest or what's hot now information. This can be about products in the shops or new shops or eateries. Each columnist will get a by-line and their photo at the top of the monthly column and we will keep an archive of all the months' columns available.
A student who is pursuing a writing career and has already taken some creative writing classes would be ideal. However if you just love fashion and shopping and have excellent grammatical skills and a colorful and descriptive writing ability, you could be considered. If you have a sample of your work or want to create a sample of what you would put in your column that would also be helpful.

NBC News Associates Program
The News Associates program is a fast-track opportunity for people with the goal to learn news gathering and production skills. It is not designed to train people who wish to be on-air reporters.

News Associates gain real-world experience honing research skills, developing news stories working in a news bureau, participating in field and studio show production, on the nightly news, a morning news program, or on a "magazine" program.
Each News Associate is assigned a mentor who is an experienced staff member. In addition, News Associates are invited to regular lunches with guest speakers such as the executive producers of "Today", "Nightly News" or " Dateline."
Over 75 percent of the News Associates who've completed the program have gone on to various producing positions with NBC News. Some are currently with "Dateline," "NBC Nightly News", "Today" or with MSNBC, CNBC, or our Burbank bureau.
The program runs twelve months and consists of several long-term assignments on a news program and/or a news bureau. Most Associates will be located in New York; Relocation expenses are not covered.
Fox Sports West Internships

region sports television station. We
are located in
Century City. Our programming consists of teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers, L.A. Kings, Anaheim Mighty ducks, L.A. Dodgers, Anaheim Angels, etc... and Pac-10 sports, as well as local programming. Our non-paying college credit/personal experience internship requires a minimum of 10 hours a week. Interns will be required to help the production/office staff and freelance producers with a variety of duties. Duties include logging tapes, basic editing, research and chances for on sight game-time production. Candidates must have knowledge of sports, computer skills and a good attitude.
