The Law of Attraction - Missing Pieces

Updated on October 11, 2012

The Law of Attraction

Thousands upon thousands of people are studying and practicing the Law of Attraction. I hear it all the time. I am one of those thousands of people.

The problem with this Law is that it is put out to the public in a very watered down format. It makes it seem too simplistic. Just think about what you want and it is going to appear. Easy, right? Is it happening for lots of people? I do not think so. At least not based on the number of people still not getting what they want.

I recently attended a seminar by one of my mentors, Kerwin Rae. In this session, he affirmed my feeling about two pieces that are missing from the Law of Attraction. The two pieces are action and proximity.

Most people when thinking about the Law of Attraction want to despaertaly believe that all you have to do is think and it will appear. This mentality is congruent with our “microwave”, instant gratification society. People want to get things faster and easier. Ever heard of 7 minute abs? Let’s go all the way to 1 minute abs! Why not. If you can convince people that it works, you can sell it. That’s the way it was with the secret!

In the Bible, it says, “Faith without works is dead”. This is what the first missing piece is. Action! People believe that the only thing you must do is think. They are incorrect. Action is key. The belief systems created via the Law of attraction will give you inspired action.

In the Bible verse, the writer refers to people who have faith only. They just believe for something. Without works, or action, nothing will happen. It’s like believing you will get a job, but never going to an interview.

The second piece is proximity. People have referred to the Law of Attraction in terms of a magnetic force that brings “like” things together. With magnets, you must get the magnets into close proximity to each other so that they will attract. Some can argue and say, “Well, if I am attracting my soul mate and he happens to be 2,000 miles away, how do I know where to go?”

Interesting true story to respond to that. I had been in the process of attracting MY soul mate. I had designed her just the way I wanted her to be. Over time, I saw “shades” of her through the people I was interacting with. Not the exact match I was looking for. I was asked to speak at a conference in South America, a far distance from Pennsylvania, USA.

It was at that conference that I met my soul mate. She just happens to be from Australia! An even greater distance from my home and from South America. What was interesting is what she said to me after we met. She said “something” was telling her to go. Even though it was very hard for her to go, she still went. It would have been easy for her to say it’s too hard, but something kept telling her to go. We had to be in close proximity to each other in order for it to work. So, the Law of Attraction can set things in motion, but you, physically, have to put yourself in close proximity for it to materialize.

The same premise works if you want to be rich. You cannot get rich by hanging around poor people. You have to circulate amongst people and places where rich people hang out.

You can apply these two missing pieces to the Law of Attraction to every area that you are working on.

What actions are you taking EVERY day to get what you want?

Where are you hanging out EVERY day? Is it congruent with what you want?

Happy Attracting!
