The Truth About Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. Uncovered
There is much written about Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. Both bad, and good......
The first thing you will notice about this page is that there are NO ads. You will also notice that I do not include any links to any sites I own or am affiliated with in any way, and therefore there is no profit for myself in writing this article. I simply want the truth to be told....in my own words. There are many who seek to take advantage of the nativity of people's gullibility, simply writing whatever someone is likely to believe thereby increasing traffic to their page resulting in an increase in income.
All commissions are paid for memberships sold. It is true that commission raises can be achieved faster through recruitment, however, sponsoring an associate without said associate purchasing a membership will always result in no commission.
As far as canceling your membership, I actually canceled my own several years prior to becoming and associate due to financial hardships. After a phone call to customer service at 800-654-7757 I was told that my account would be placed on hold and a cancellation form would be mailed to me. Four days later it arrived. In order to cancel, I was required to sign a waiver stating that effective immediately my membership would be canceled. I was confused at first, however after considering it, I realized that, for example, If I or my wife had canceled the membership over the phone, and then later I was involved in an accident, resulting in the death of the other party, and charged with manslaughter, I could argue that I had not canceled the membership, or that my wife didn't have the authority to, or that I had changed my mind. It's a very serious matter, and the corporate office takes it seriously. You must sign a waiver releasing Pre-Paid Legal Inc. from your defense in any legal/identity theft situation for liability purposes.
Regarding the chargebacks. Pre-Paid Legal Inc. essentially offers legal insurance. Since it is a form of insurance (some states you must be licensed to even market the plans) it operates much like health insurance plans. I worked with a health insurance company for a number of years and we followed a similar commissions plan. We were paid a year in advance, if the member canceled prior, we were liable for the money given upfront. Tell the hospital my health insurance provider is a scam after they received a 50,000+ dollar payment for my motorcycle accident. Also regarding the chargebacks, any associate has the right at any time to change their commissions to "As Earned" by contacting Marketing Services at 1-580-436-7424 As-earned means you get paid your commissions by the month, you get paid as the member pays their membership, resulting in NO chargebacks. As an example, if you are a Senior Associate, you will be paid 8.40 (100 / 12) per month for a year or until the member cancels.
