You can earn money online - a simple guide
Easy money online?
If you have spent any time at all on the internet you will have seen lots of adverts - and success stories - about people who have made a fortune from running an online business. And, they claim, you can too. But remember: if it were really that easy then everyone would be doing it!
Quit your job and live the life you want
Lots of people would love to quit their day job and work from home to earn money online.
This is a simple guide on how you could use your skills and expertise to make a new career for yourself.
I’m assuming at this point that you have Googled for terms like "ways to make money online" and then been deluged with the number of pages and websites that offer a solution.
Firstly, there's no easy or best way to make money online. If you really are serious about this then you need to approach it as a business - something you will have to apply yourself to and work hard at.
Some of the options open to you are:
- data entry (though this will be relatively low-paid for the amount of work you will be required to do)
- sign up with several freelance online job portals (they offer a wide range of work)
- carry out online surveys for money (some of these are quite fun and some do pay. Most let you rack up lots of points which can be exchanged for gifts or, sometimes, cash. But please be certain that they are 100% legitimate.)
- start a blog and put Google Adsense adverts on it. Blogger has now introduced Amazon Associates too. (You will need to update a blog on a regular basis and write about things people want to read!) Youtube has some interesting videos on this subject
- Online trading: I've put a Youtube video on this page because it explains how you can buy goods cheaply from liquidation suppliers and then sell for a profit on sites like eBay. Worth doing but you will need the cash to buy the initial stock.
To take the idea of blogging further you can write about what and who you know about to make a living online.
There are an increasing number of sites that are willing to pay for articles or blog posts. (Hubpages is a great example!). You could also try Associated Content and Helium and, like Hubpages, you can earn money for the number of page views your articles generate.
There are other outlets, such as Demand Studios, which also offer an outlet and while these websites offer low rates they are a good training ground to get yourself established and learn the ropes.
Lots of companies are also looking for part time bloggers and they will pay per post or offer a contract.
So, if you are looking to make money online 'now' or 'fast' then it is possible. You can make real money online but you'll have to work at it.
A Google search also throws up no-end of get rich quick schemes. It's best to avoid them. You shouldn't have to spend money to get money, right?
Here are a few more ideas: offer your services as a freelancer to webmasters. Write articles, re-write content, post blog and forum entries. Can you draw? Are you a graphic designer? These skills are in demand.
One tip about some of the freelance job websites is that you will have to bid to get the job. You will be up against people who aren't as skilled as you are but they will be cheaper - your skillset needs to be pitched just right to encourage potential employers to use you.
Can you build websites? Can you build websites quickly? If so, there are opportunities to build new ones - or create ones to be 'flipped'. That's to say you create a website and content for a popular market and sell it on because the hard work has already been done.
And if you already have a website that has some traffic try installing a pay per click program such as Goodle Adsense - though it's not the only scheme out there.
Essentially, people are finding out that there is no best way to make money online. The only way is to dedicate yourself to something you will enjoy doing. You may have visited dozens of websites, read several get rich quick books but unless you apply yourself, be productive and, most of all, be persistent then you will not succeed. Like most things in life you need to generate your own success which will make it all the more enjoyable.
