    What defines discrimination in the work force.

    i work for an employer and we pay a monthly rate for the use of the car, I recently found out that the electronic safety serivce available on the car was purchased thru the fleet when they bought the new cars. for me its a safety issue, if we get in a wreck and unable to call for help.  they have said we cant push that button for help.  on the other hand they just bought a car for a employee who is very tall saying it was not safe for him to drive the small cars the rest of us drive.

    I don't know if that would be looked at as discrimination. You are right on the one hand. It does seem to be a safety issue but is the other car equipped with the same safety features and is the other guy not allowed to push the button as well? If there is really discrimination going on, just know that retaliation cannot come fourth if you do start a suit. You will keep your job and you should not be treated any differently in the work place.

    As was stated earlier I'm not sure that would be looked at as discrimination although if you did get into an accident while driving the car for work purposes, I'm not sure that the company would want to be known for being one that told employees not to use the emergency button even in an emergency. Seems like of petty to me especially when you consider the possible legal ramifications of it.
