Autocratic leaders make all decisions and accept no suggestions, comments, or dissention. The leader of the US government is not autocratic at all because he makes virtually no decisions. Decisions are made for him by his advisory groups and his staff. He just signs his name to what is put in front of him, depending on how politically dangerous the decision is. Sometimes the president prefers to be left out of details completely so that he cannot be held accountable later. Might I add that as Head of State, the president sets the example for the American people and our society.
