Do you believe you can work AND love what you do every day?

Are you doing what you love to do or is work a dreaded task? If it is a dreaded task, why do you continue to do it? Is it possible to work and love what you do? Is fulfilling work only a reality for a select percentage of the population?

I think for most people once they enter the working age they still don't really have a clear idea of what they are suited for.

You decide that perhaps you should try that or that, not exactly knowing if you are heading the right direction.

A need of having a job is mainly to provide for the essential things in life.
It can take a long time to discover what one is truly meant for.

Many people don't even ask that question. They just continue with the job they may not even like just to pay for all necessary they need.

Self-realization of our inner values and understanding what we are good at, where we would find our personal fulfilment is an important process as it means it could lead to something much more satisfying.
A strong will and determination is needed to be able to move towards such goals.

For example, myself I have worked for the same company for 12 years, I actually enjoy what I do, however I have discovered that my abilities to write could lead me towards something new, even more enjoyable.

Therefore I have made that decision to do something about it.
I have made my plans and set my goals, and I know it's a question of time when I will be able to live by my own terms, although I am aware it will require a lot of work and perseverance from my side.

Yes. I love what I do. Medical transcription. I work from home, I can eat while working (but I don't focus on the food too much), and I enjoy reading about people getting help. OB-GYN is a good area, and Radiology is my favorite. Bones, bones, bones.
Just stay away from the surgery area's and no pediatric AT ALL. I can't stand the children's section.

Yes, as a career adviser, myself, I know and have seen that people can find a vocation that they love and than energizes them, more than drains them. It takes some work in learning ones personality, interests and values and looking at the wide range of options out there. So, given the right help, individuals who are willing can sort this out and find an enjoyable vocation.

It's very possible.  There's a large number of people excited to get up and start their day because they love what they do for a living.  Many of these people decided to follow their dreams.  The factor behind success when you choose to do this is to realize what the actual journey looks and feels like.  It's a frightening endeavor without certainty.  These types of journeys take you up and down financially with the downs sometimes being true devastation.  But the overall reason to do what you love is to ride the feeling of incredible joy in life.  There's not much to compare in life than what it feels like to follow your dreams.

Yes, I love what I do. I am a Primary Special Education teacher with a small class of children with profound and multiple learning difficulties, and I find most days very rewarding and fulfilling. There is the odd day where I want to cry in a corner as it is a stressful job, but helping young people make small, yet highly important steps of progress in their development is a privilege.

I have had jobs in the past where I dreaded going into work, but believe if you find your niche you are on to a winner.

My academic advisor tells me that if I work at a job that I'll love, then I'll never have to work a day in my life.  I chose to study Information Technology, but learned quickly that I am interested in web design, and once I obtain my associate's degree, I am changing majors. I am going to study private investigations and also to be a bounty hunter. I discovered my interest in it recently when I joined Sweetsusieg (a fellow hubber) and other people on a great support team that is helping a legal defense team on a criminal case.

So, between the three fields, I should be able to start some type of business and work from home.

Yes you can!  When you love what you do at work, it's not like working, it's enjoying life.

If you don't love what you do, you are punishing yourself.  If you need help, read Dan Miller's book, 48 Days to the Job You Love.  The most miserable people I know are those who opt for a profession so they can make a great deal of money.  If you love what you are doing, you will be good at it and adequate money will follow you.

I was somehow forced to do Chartered Accountancy and then I joined ACCA of Oxford Brooks University but I never loved that field. Finally I came back to my field after 6 years i.e. in the IT field and now I love my work and prospering and advancing fast. So if you love your work, it definitely give you a strong boom. It add a force that accelerate your career.

I love computer programming and now I worked as a computer programming, so I'am doing things that I love everyday... Although, I still feel bored sometimes, but isn't it natural to feel bored?
I think choosing a job which is related to your hobby or interest will make you love what you are doing and challenge yourself to do it better, thus will make you a high achiever person...

I think as long as you doing something your passionate about then you should love your job. If you don't then why are you passionate about it?

Yes, I believe. When we are interested with what we're doing then it follows the love for work. I think it's constant, and by knowing your capacity you get to love that work better with an assurance that you're doing well.

Yes.  I love studying law and writing; and I do it everyday.  There is no sense in working a job you don't love.  The problem is a lot of people who hate their job went into it just for the money - or they haven't done enough self-evaluating to figure out what their talents are and what they love to do.  Once  you love what you do, you will be successful because you put your all into it.

Yes, but really depends on why you are working there in first place. Are you working there to pay the bills are?

I don't think you'll love every, single, little task related to doing that work, but if it's work that you love, that passion will drive your commitment, if that makes sense.
