Do you think you should stay in office for the stipulated time even if you have absolutely no work?
Say, your working hours is 9 everyday at office and you have absolutely no work, do you think you should stay for the complete 9 hours? Justify, be it Yes or No, with reasons!
That depends on your job and how you make money.
If you work an hourly wage then the more you are there, the more you make. If however you are salary, that wouldn't be an issue.
In my job I get paid hourly but I am sort of a supervisor so there are many times that I do not have "anything" to do. But I am still required to be here, not only because I have to work my 40 hours, but I am basically here to handle things that the people that work under me cannot handle.
I hope this answered your question. Sorry it isn't really a yes or no.. More information about how you are paid would make it easier to give you a yes or no however.
Have a great day.
