What's the best answer to this tough job interview question: "Tell me about your weaknesses."
Always come up with an answer that suits the job - If it is a sales job then I might say " Dealing with rude customers as I like to be polite with everyone I deal with "
So always have a weakness to share as if you say you don't have one they wont bewlieve you . - I hate that question.......
I hope this helps you.
I agree with what freecampingaussie says.
I was always told to try and make your weakness seem like a positive negative. So say your not too good at something, try and swing it around to put your negative in the positive light. Hope that makes some kind of sense.
Well, everyone expects that you will be totally truthful about questions like this, but the reality is that most people tend to be economical with the truth. However, one can start by saying that 'there are couple of things I am frantically working to improve and they are....... and you can end by giving examples of improvements made so far
I've always deflected this question by saying: "My weakness is that I cannot bench press 600 pounds. Do you have ANOTHER question, which actually applies to the job for which I'm being considered? ... and which does not make YOU look like an idiot?"
P.S. Needless to say, I've been out of work for the last several years.......
It could be a weakness that you have had in the past but have now resolved...something along the lines of:
"I have struggled with emotional intelligence in the past as I focussed on delivering the results for the department. Luckily EQ is a learned behaviour and I have been to courses and mentored to become a better leader through the use of EQ, can I give you an example?"
This way you deliver a weakness that has now become a positive to your application and it demonstrates that you can resolve your weaknesses.
Cheers Michael
As a currently unemployed person.....I dread that question, which seems to be an inevitable question the interviewer asks at every single interview!
You know, I do not have an answer for that! I don't know what the best answer would be, but I would like to know for sure! You have asked a really good question!
I can not go against my will and conscious. I am task oriented person. I can not compromise with excuses. it is my biggest weakness.

What is the weirdest or most surprising interview question that you have ever been asked? The weirdest for me was at a receptionist job interview. They asked me to describe how I would make a sandwich. Apparently I answered it wrong because I did not get that job ha ha ha.
