There are lots of jobs that can bring happiness to people with all different mindsets, needs and desires from being in control of a street sweeping vehicle, becoming a research scientist or climbing up the corporate ladder to become the CEO of a multinational firm. Some obviously carry more perks but in the end those perks only count on a superficial level.
The most ideal job for me is one that provides a challenge either mentally or physically, has growth, either to step up into a more career orientated role or simply to build self development and life skills. It will increase knowledge that may be applied to other areas of your life, has stability and is fun to wake up to in the morning. A fair pay check and reasonable working conditions are often side effects from working that go along way to creating the ideal job which would be different for everyone.
The happiest of my friends are not those who have a regular income, are not those who spend a great deal of time studying to please parents and completing a degree to discover that they actually hate the career path they have chosen but feel stuck and obliged to follow it. Instead I envy those people who are fulfilling their dreams, usually in a creative field such as a friend of mine who is a popular Tattoo Artist because she loves her art, job and clients. This woman's passion and drive to obtain her dream job is a real inspiration and she's been living that dream now for at least ten years.
