How do you deal with people that make your job miserable?
I have been t my job a long time. I have been there the longest of any other employee. There is this lady that is always in everyones buisness, she tries to tell everyone what to do including the owner. She is driving me nuts! I am about to snap.......
I would go straight to the owner and tell them how this woman is making his employees feel. If he or she cares anything about his other employees? He or she will put them in their place or place them out the door.
Try not to get really angry. When you're angry, you're most likely going to make rash decisions that could possibly get you in trouble with the owner. Staying calm will help you make wise choices. Try talking to the lady about what she's doing and let her know that she's bothering you and you don't want her in your business. Dreaming of revenge is only going to make you more annoyed, so try not to think of her all the time. If she's out there to annoy you on purpose, don't respond. If she's annoying you on purpose, then it'll annoy her if you don't respond and hopefully she'll stop. Good luck!
It's amazing how a smile will soften an intense act or situation. I've heard so much about these types of situations from friends and family, I could probably write a book. The most successful tactic for dealing with this type of person is to say what's on your mind but add a smile and maybe a laugh as if to be sarcastic.
If you get too angry and start yelling at the lady then some will feel like it's not "professional." This could possibly be an issue in your boss's eyes, irregardless if everyone know's how "messy" she is.
Plus people like this person your referring to, LOVE to see other people lose there cool. They like the negative reaction because like the cliche goes "misery loves company."
Getting "snippy" with this person but maintaining a positive attitude will give you satisfaction while not creating a hostile environment.
In my experience, telling the boss about this type of person won't resolve anything. No boss wants hostile employees, so they'll just say whatever bulls*** that needs to be said in order to pacify the situation.Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands. Good Luck!
Laugh really loud when she does this. She will look confused and ask what you are laughing at. Tell her, something funny I heard. She'll be even more confused. Go about your day and enjoy it because while she's quiet and trying to figure out what the heck you are laughing at, you will get your work done and be happier when you leave. Laughter is the best medicine. Letting people struggle to figure you out is fun.
