Efficient Admin, thanks for your reponse! I agree re the workload aspect - perhaps if a four day week was too hectic then the 5th day could be a 'work from home day' but again like you said, this would depend on the industry.

Charles, thank you for your response- I really like the idea of flexible hours and like you mentioned, every day will have some 'downtime'. I also think that flexible hours and a shorter week would significantly improve work/life balance/productivity
Hi Zsuzsi - you're right about the workload - I didn't even consider that. Five days work in four days time would be more stressful but perhaps this would be reduced..I would much prefer a 4 day week:)
alwaysamber, I think you definitely have a point there - it is hard to have time to get everything done on the weekend. I think people would feel more refreshed on Monday if Friday was part of the weekend.
This is so true. If you wanted to take a day trip and didn't get home until 10pm on a Saturday, well Sunday for me would be doing nothing but recuperating, then the housework and errands would not get done. That's why a 3-day weekend sounds excellen
