Personally I feel like that depends on you and your capabilities. I started my own small window cleaning business. In the first month out the door we had actually brought in double what we spent to get started. So my start up was roughly $800 and I made $1700 the first month, $2200 the second month, and $2500 the third month. Although we can only operate the window cleaning portion during warm months we averaged about 7 working months and during the winter we did snow removal and only averaged roughly $600 a month... In those 7 months of cleaning windows (what we consider a fiscal year) We only averaged about $200 in soap, $100 in squeegees, & another $100 in towels. So we profited quite well although each month we put 30% into advertising to provide us with more customers. It was a great work from home business for us.
